About Us
The Inner Wild began long before we formally met. Lizzie, living on her ancestral land in Scotland, had spent years listening to the quiet intelligence of horses, cattle, and the elemental Highlands. Kathryn, in Los Angeles, was deepening her work in depth psychology and the Wise Woman traditions that honour mystery and nourishment. Though an ocean apart, we were circling the same questions: How do we listen more deeply? How do we return to relationship with land, body, and soul?
Lizzie had followed Kathryn’s work online for years, drawn to her reverence, her intuitive depth, and her attuned way of working with the psyche. When her film The Hermit of Treig screened in LA, she reached out, and Kathryn came. Dinner felt like meeting a sister - effortless connection, shared values, shared wildness. After dinner, Lizzie mentioned, half playfully, how beautiful it would be to lead a retreat together someday. Kathryn lit up. Within weeks she had booked a ticket to Scotland to explore the possibility.
In Morvern’s forests and pastures, our ways of working found each other. Kathryn experienced Lizzie’s soft power - the patient, embodied listening that guides her life and work. Lizzie experienced Kathryn’s depth, mythic insight, and tender courage around emotion. What emerged between us was a shared devotion to what we call fierce gentleness: a wild femininity that is powerful without force and soft without losing strength.
This collaboration is rooted in friendship, resonance, and a mutual desire to help people remember their soul’s callings and to connect more deeply with the wisdom of the living world. Together we weave somatic, ecological, and depth-oriented practices into a retreat space where nourishment, presence, and genuine transformation can unfold - guided by land, animals, and the mystery at the heart of being human.
